Indian
bridal wear is now constituted of magnificent
Indian
designer lehenga
and Bollywood designer sarees. Naturally,
the same is reflected in the hot bridal couture at the various fashion shows.
Last year and this year too Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla pair has emerged as the
kings of the Indian wedding couture scene. Their collection showcased at the
Indian Bridal Fashion Week in 2014 and 2015 were spectacular to say the least.
The magenta bridal lehenga with golden embellishments spreading through the
entire length worn by Sonam Kapoor was the show stopper moment of the fashion
show. The short choli embellished with golden balls and beads was one that
stole many hearts. Apart from stunning and sophisticated anarkalis in white and
beige there were other bridal lehengas too that incorporated a lot of colours
like orange, blue, yellow. These unconventional shades were used along with the
conventional bridal colours like red and maroon for a unique look.

The neo vintage look is in

The
best sarees were brought out once again at the Lakme Fashion Week 2015. From
Bollywood sarees to traditional sarees, the ramp was on fire.
The fabric, the form, the styles of draping the saree all were too magnificent
to put into words. The vintage designs were given a contemporary twist which
makes it appealing for the younger generation and as we all know vintage is
‘in’. Designer Yogesh Chowdhury with his ‘Mithu’ collection brought out the
joys of spring. The hand embroidery, machine embroidery, parrot motifs, etc.
made his collection look adorable. Foiling and flocking were his main
techniques.

Boho chic collection for women with a
vibrant personality

Krishna
Mehta stood out from the rest with the boho chic collection in a variety of
vibrant shades. The colours and the silhouettes look chic and classy. Vibrant
shades of red, orange, magenta, fuschia toned down to deeper shades of indigo,
purple and black. The collection was oozing with energy and positivity. The
chic draping styles of the sarees once again drew special attention.

Tradition with a new touch of class
Vaishali
S’ collection named ‘Behrupia’ consisted mainly of hand woven fabric. She
mainly cultivated the Indian traditional fabrics and designs and gave them a
sophisticated and classy twist by incorporating new elements to make them more
appealing and draping them in unique ways.
Fashion parade of the hottest sarees
ever made

Among
others who stole attention at the wide saree parade was Shruti Sancheti with
her range of sarees for the modern woman. The deep colours, magnificent blouses
in jacket style or with a lot of detailed use of colors, the use of corset
belts to highlight the waistline, all made the saree collection look the most
happening thing on the planet. Even Gauri Khan who debuted at the Lakme Fashion
Week 2015 under the label of Satya Paul showcased a heartwarming collection
with calligraphy, palm motifs and wash based print.
